About me
Nancy Smith is a National Board Certified first grade teacher from Olathe, KS. She is passionate about creating memorable learning experiences for her students, and she loves to involve her whole school and community in those experiences. Whether it’s creating chicken playground equipment as part of a Project-Based Learning unit or taking her students to Topeka to present to the State Board of Education, she is always looking for ways to engage her primary learners in their world. She is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching award, the Kansas Agricultural Teacher of the Year award, and is currently Olathe’s Elementary Teacher of the Year.
