Jay Scott is Director of the KSDE Division of Learning Services Accreditation and Design team. Jay joined the staff of the Kansas State Department of Education in June 2012 as assistant director on the Career, Standards, and Assessment Services team, overseeing Career and Technical Education. In July 2017, Jay became the Secondary School Redesign Specialist of the Kansans Can School Redesign Project. Beginning spring of 2022, Jay became the Director of the newly formed Accreditation and Design team at KSDE. Prior to joining the State Department, Jay spent 15 years as an educator in Kansas schools. He was a teacher, coach, and an administrator in four school districts located in northeast Kansas. Jay earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary science education from Baker University (1993), master’s in educational leadership from Emporia State University (2003), and doctorate degree in educational leadership from Kansas State University (2023).
