About me
I am in my 30th year of teaching ELA. For over 20 years, I taught all levels of high school English with 10 years being in an AP Language classroom. I was honored to be the Region One Kansas Teacher of the Year in 2014 and earned my National Board Certification for ELA in both 2006 and again in 2016. I am APSI certified in both AP Language and AP seminar. I chose to step away from the high school setting when my youngest daughter graduated in 2020. I am now teaching middle school English to a very fun group of 8th grade students at Rock Creek Middle School. In 2021 I became a Teacher Leader Consultant with KSDE and am now part of the Language Arts team for the State of Kansas.
I have two daughters: Ally is 26 and lives in Kansas City with her husband and my new grandson. She is a corporate event planner and travels all across the U.S. Kelly is 23 and just graduated this past year from Kansas State University with a degree in political science. She just started her career in the KC area. My husband and I are empty-nesters and live in Wamego with our golden doodle, Maddie.
